This was the damage on the street behind us. The only thing separating us from the backyards of our neighbors was an
alley.

Most of the old trees were gone from this street. These were huge, 100 year old trees. Unfortunately, many of them were
hackberry trees which have shallow roots and were simply uprooted. This picture was taken two days after the storm and
much of the wood had already been cut up. All we heard for days was the sound of chainsaws.

This entire upstairs of this house fell into the downstairs.

For miles all you could see were tarps on the roofs. Most of them were those blue plastic ones and the whole area for
several miles was a tapestry of blue.

That red brick house on the street behind is ours. What a difference a few yards made with this tornado.

This house was very similar to ours and was situated diagonally behind us. Its entire roof was blown off and the
family moved out for what seemed like months.

This is the front of the same house as above. We almost bought this. We could have stolen it for $124,000 in 1989.

This is our house with the tree on our upstairs deck. That was my car in the front which suffered minor damage

A close up of our front porch showing the swing where we were sitting when the storm began. We had to navigate through
the brush to get outside until the tree was cut up and off the house.
